Safeguarding

Safeguarding and promoting pupils’ welfare is everyone’s responsibility. Concerns are reported promptly and handled through the school’s safeguarding procedures.

If a child is in immediate danger, call 999. If you have a concern about a pupil at SMS, contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead directly.

Designated safeguarding leadership

Designated Safeguarding Lead / Head of Safeguarding: Isaac DuFraisse.

Trained deputy safeguarding coverage is maintained across school sites. Any pupil, parent, carer, professional, member of staff or visitor can raise a concern with a member of staff, who will follow the school’s reporting procedure.

How to raise a concern

Telephone 0161 480 1411 or email inclusion@smscoaching.co.uk. This is the direct safeguarding email for Isaac DuFraisse, Designated Safeguarding Lead. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information in an initial email.

Our arrangements

  • The school works with local authorities, social care, police, health and other agencies when required.
  • Safer recruitment checks are completed before staff begin regulated work.
  • Online safety, child-on-child abuse, exploitation, attendance and pupils missing education are considered within safeguarding practice.
